People keep asking so I thought I'd put somethin down here!

Rain of fire was moved to the core spell list which opens up some possibilities. It still uses the Conflagration spec line for boosting it's damage so that's still a priority. I'd go 11 in this line purchasing Spreading Flames, and the tactics Fiery Reserves + Wildfire. That leaves 11 points for the Immolation line, speccing up to 9 for Withering Heat and the last point in Playing With Fire. This build is a little light on defensive utility but you'll never be in a situation where you don't have the right tool to melt people. There are other important tactics that you get for free so consider the point in wildfire free to play with. So tips:

You can walk around using the insta pbae every 4 seconds or so to keep your combustion topped off and the health/ap will regen between casts as long as you're out of combat, so you go right into the fight dealing wtf damage. For a single target with this build you can start off putting up dots then start channeling Withering Heat and anything but a tank with a shield will be dead before the channel finishes(the whole fight is about 6 seconds). If your target is a healer spam healing themselves you can drop Playing With Fire on him and the damage he takes from healing himself will wreck him. In an AE situation you lead off with Spreading Flames which will pulse an ae from the enemy for 15 seconds and it's a "hex" so you can immediately follow it up with detonate to stack a second ae dot from that enemy, then you go right into channeling Rain of Fire and everything gets wtf blowed up. If somehow an unholy creature survives that inferno the cooldown on detonate is up as RoF finishes and you still have like 2 seconds of Spreading Flames left to count as the "Hex" requirement so you can re-apply detonate then go right back in to RoF since you have the talent to make it a 10 sec CD. If you're insane enough to fight up close and personal the combination of flame breath+wildfire can further add to the pre RoF dot routine and adds a real nice proc to the ranged 3 sec cast ae.

Since they had changed the Rain of Fire to lvl 25 core ability, I went up the DoT mastery tree first, taking Playing with Fire and in 2 more lvls getting Withering Heat(can't wait!!). I noticed that for PvE you will generate less aggro dropping the 2 DoT's on the main assist target and then Detonating the whole pack, followed with a few Fiery Blasts and Fire Breath stuff drops quick that isn't a Hero. At level 23 the 3 DoT's are doing around 1500 dmg in 15 seconds, and are reapllied very quickly compared to casting another spell. Only thing to watch is this builds Combustion very quickly.

In RvR the 3 DoT combo melts through cloth wearers and hurts tanks pretty badly that don't have a dedicated healer on them. The other great thing about the DoT's is they are insta and can be cast on the move. If there are alot of Melee in open field RvR , I use the range to hit a healer in the back with a Hex and than Detonate them all, this gets them scrambling about and makes it a ton easier to drop the tanks.

Ya that's probably the better line to go up first being in scenarios most of the time. I don't think people are really aware of how big a difference pre charging combustion and going into a fight at 100/100 makes. At full combustion you deal roughly 2.5x the average damage of the same spells at 0, and most fights will be over before you can build to full if you start at 0 and just let it build through normal dps routines. It's what seperates the overpowered bw's from everyone else.

This is most likely the build I will try out at end game, yeah I know Weav it's not all aoe spec :P
But the Detonate/Rain of Fire combo is lethal, and more often than not they just run out of Rain when you drop it, so hitting em with Detonate 1st is the key for melting faces. Also been playing with Stop,Drop and Roll , it's friggin awesome!...great at saving yourself and others by taking a target out for a few seconds. I also use it to knock down their healers as it has a good range, this way no heals for 3 seconds you can kill em quicker. I think I'll still do some decent rain of fire dmg, nothing major though, but with Detonate and Spreading Flames running the damage will be pretty damn good. Also Withering Heat is a beast at 100% combustion, it says it does up to 1500ish dmg in 6 seconds, but I've had crits of 1500 - 1700 at lvl 31. I've applied Ignite, Boil Blood and Detonate to clothies and dps classes alike(Marauder too) and after the first tick of the DoT's click Withering Heat and the initial hit kills them.

I dunno we'll see how it goes, if it don't work as planned at end game respeccing is cheap enough lol
